“Complete the Circle” – This is John’s motto, which he has followed throughout his career of 35+ years in the world of storage and logistics. He began as a route driver, then soon moved into public cold storage with Los Angeles Cold Storage, National Refrigerated Trucking as a self-employed broker/agent and then Castle & Cooke Cold Storage. While at LACS, John was a member for the Teamsters Local 630 and became recognized as one of the youngest to manage warehouse operations in a union environment. He then started and developed the logistics division at LACS where he managed local and nationwide drayage, LTL, and FTL responsibilities. During this time he challenged himself to continue his training in the industry and joined as a member of WFLO-World Food Logistics Organization and NFI-National Fisheries, among other training opportunities. At NRT he developed a customer base, managed all aspects of logistics servicing the customer’s needs. Eventually, C&CCS in Riverside, CA brought him a new opportunity to manage their warehouse, daily operations, and scheduling for 2 shifts of 25 employees. The next opportunity with Nestle in Ontario, CA as the Logistics Manager was a new challenging journey working in a production facility, which included 24/7 operations offering leadership for 50+ people during 3 shifts. John is proud of the many opportunities he has had which brought him to Blakeman Transportation beginning in 2019 with the role of Regional Sales & Business Development. He not only specializes in the logistics of freight, but is passionate about what he does. With a “can do” personality, he strives to grow business while building great relationships within the industry. While he is always looking to continue his learning, he also offers training points with the first being – to always take care of the customer, and to always push forward. He encourages others by asking “What can you do to improve the situation” and then teaching what it means to “Complete the Circle.”
